Henry Cejudo Posts Scathing Critique of Demetrious Johnson’s Marketability as a UFC Champion

Former
Ultimate Fighting Championship
flyweight contender Henry
Cejudo
is the latest fighter to try his hand at the art of
trash talking with a rather uncharacteristic tweet targeting UFC
flyweight king Demetrious
Johnson
.

“The Messenger” tried to get under the skin of the champion by
highlighting his poor pay-per-view ratings compared to other
champions and even took a swipe at Mighty Mouse’s side business as
a video game streamer.

Cejudo took on Johnson for the UFC flyweight title back in April
2016 and the champion made light work of the Olympic wrestler with
a TKO win in the opening round. Johnson made sure to remind Cejudo
of their previous encounter:

Since their fight, Cejudo suffered another defeat at the hands of
Joseph
Benavidez
before bouncing back with two victories against
Wilson
Reis
and most recently rising flyweight Sergio
Pettis
back in December.

Johnson has gone from strength to strength with three straight
victories over Tim Elliott,
Wilson
Reis
and Ray Borg. He
also broke the UFC record for most consecutive title defenses (11)
in a performance of the night win in that fight against Borg back
in October. Currently, the champion is recovering from shoulder
surgery, which has kept him out of action so far this year.

A fight between Johnson and current bantamweight champion T.J.
Dillashaw
was rumored to be in the works but nothing went ahead
as Johnson hadn’t recovered in time.

Cejudo’s manager Ali Abdelaziz did post on Twitter that a deal had
been struck between his client and Johnson, although nothing
official has been announced as official yet.
