Rory MacDonald believed that Gegard Mousasi should have lost in his debut in Bellator, and the average weight is not going to let go and wants to test the new champion of the welters in the future: “He also had a great performance against Douglas Lima, but I’m not going to say stupid things on Twitter. I hope that we can fight after Bellator 200,” he said, “The Dreamcatcher” to Ariel Helwani in an interview for the podcast The MMA Hour. “Come and show their skills, but it’s going to be short. His style is perfect for me, goes a long way, they will probably kick up the rear”.

Of course, Mousasi needs to beat the middleweight champion of Bellator Rafael Carvalho on the undercard of the may 25, a rival of respect for the veteran Armenian: “If Carvalho was in the UFC I’d probably be among the top 10 to the top 5 of the division. It is hard, is skillful and I think he has not lost since 2011,” said Mousasi of his future opponent, who takes the longest reign among current champions of the company. The Dreamcatcher, however, is convinced that it will have a title to put in front of MacDonald: “For something Carvalho is the champion, but I’m going for that belt”.

If not given, the encounter with MacDonald, however, Mousasi could find a crossing with another prominent former UFC. The Armenian says that he is willing to move up in weight class to find the belt of 205 pounds, which is currently in the hands of Ryan Bader: “If I gain Carvalho is going to open several doors”, closed down the former champion DREAM, Cage Warriors and Strikeforce. “I could go to the semicompletos and achieve a title there. If I do well and triumph in this fight I will be able to achieve greater things”.
