Diaz: McGregor Is ‘Scared For His Life’

Nate Diaz has gone on record saying that the only fight that will bring him out of mixed martial arts (MMA) hiatus is a trilogy fight against former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight and Lightweight champion, Conor McGregor.

And a $30 million payday.

“Notorious,” meanwhile, is too busy scratching things off his bucket list, spending his millions and trashing buses full of fighters. But the fiery Irishman is gearing up for a potential return, assuming all of his legal troubles stemming from his Brooklyn meltdown go his way.

When broached by TMZ on the topic of running it back for a third time against Conor, the Stockton slugger seems to think the former two-division champion is simply “scared for his life.”

In more ways than one?

Of course, now that Conor and Khabib’s rivalry has intensified it’s safe to assume the promotion will look to book a 155-pound title fight between “The Eagle” and “Notorious” after Khabib won the undisputed strap at UFC 223.

Diaz hasn’t competed since losing to Conor at UFC 202 back in 2016, which evened up the series at one a piece after Nate shocked “Notorious” at UFC 196. Since then, the younger of the Diaz brothers has been content with taking it easy while waiting to see if and when McGregor makes his much-anticipated return.

Whether or not Dana White and Co. feel a trilogy fight with Diaz does better than a title fight against Nurmagomedov for Conor, remains to be seen.
