Floyd Mayweather would lose to a TEENAGER in MMA – Vitor Belfort

Mayweather, 41, has been teasing a move to the MMA world for several months, further fuelling talk of a rematch with former UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor.

Despite having never trained in mixed martial arts, .

The general consensus in the combat sports world is that the Olympian would suffer an emphatic defeat if he were to ever set foot inside the Octagon.

Belfort agrees wholeheartedly with that notion and reckons a teenager would have their way with the legendary boxer in an MMA bout.

“I think he doesn’t have a chance even against the young kids, 15, 14-year-olds,” Belfort told MMA Fighting. “I don’t think he has a chance, no. He has a lot to learn on the ground, kicks.

“I think it’s an illusion (to say) that happens, unless it’s different rules or a fight in his world.

“With his arms, on his weight, he’s a phenom. Now, involving legs and other things, no chance.”

The notion of Mayweather acquiring the skills needed to succeed in the cage in less than a year has amused many, .

“Obviously, he’s a very talented guy,” White said of Mayweather in a recent interview with TMZ.

“But as far as the wrestling, nobody is going to learn that in six to eight weeks (months).

“Years. It takes years of wrestling, martial arts and combat sports to be a mixed martial artist. Years. He’s a defensive master with his hands, doing all this stuff.

“When somebody double legs you and drops you on your head. He doesn’t have the defence for that.”

Mayweather, 50-0, gave an update on his proposed move to the MMA world earlier this month and suggested that he could very well .

“Retirement has been great but as everybody knows, I go into retirement and I come back, I go into retirement and I come back,” he told Showtime.

“Is it possible that I come back? Yes, but if I do come back it has to be in the Octagon. I will not box again.

“I spoke with Showtime, I spoke with CBS. If we can get together with Dana White and UFC to make a mega fight, one fight, it could be with Conor McGregor, we don’t know.

“When I do go to the Octagon, I look at going around 145lbs. I want to do it if the money is right.

“I can do whatever I want to do, I’m Floyd Mayweather.”
