Conor McGregor’s coach talks Floyd Mayweather fight as huge KO claim is made

Conor McGregor’s coach discusses Floyd Mayweather fight

Conor McGregor’s striking coach Owen Roddy has revealed he was thoroughly impressed by ‘The Notorious’ performance against Floyd Mayweather.

“The last five he was walking Conor down and trying to get Conor to punch himself out,” . “That was very smart as well. But Conor, in general, I thought he was amazing.

“To go in and fight in a different sport for the first time, to fight the greatest fighter of the present day, to fight him in his backyard and to go ten rounds and to land more strikes than anybody else, that’s a testament to Conor and his ability.

“I just think if we had more time, a longer camp, he could get used to those 12 rounds quickly.

“Also, boxers would say rounds eight to twelve is where you’re going to win it. And that’s where we noticed a little difference.

“The first eight, Conor was unbelievable. It was early on in the tenth when Floyd really took control.”

Paulie Malignaggi talks potential Conor McGregor fight

Former WBA welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi believes a fight with Conor McGregor won’t come to fruition.

“I don’t think McGregor is going to fight me, to be honest,” ‘The Magic Man said at the launch of ULTIMATE BOXXER.

“I can keep baiting him or what-not but he has the sparring video and that video is not going to come out so he’s going to have the advantage over time. I don’t think he is going to fight me.

‘He had his a** whooped in the sparring session and he has the whole world believing he didn’t so he’s not going to take a chance on that image and perception being changed.

“He’d be stupid to – if I was him, I’d be stupid to risk that perception changing because right now perception is reality. The reality wasn’t that but if that perception is reality, he’s going nowhere near me.”
