Mayweather’s social media antics quickly became the talk of the combat sports world, with many wondering if the Michigan native is serious about having an MMA fight.

They inevitably led to talk of the legendary boxer rematching McGregor, who unsurprisingly had a witty response to ‘Money’s’ videos.

Mayweather stopped short of confirming if he is indeed keen on fighting McGregor in the , something he suggested could happen throughout the press tour for their much-maligned boxing match.

However, he’s now seemingly confirmed his intention to fight ‘The Notorious’ inside the cage.

This weekend, he posted a photoshopped picture of him elbowing a bloodied McGregor to his official Instagram page.

The accompanying caption read: “Certified Killa vs Certified B***h.”

The prospect of Mayweather entering the Octagon has intrigued McGregor, who is more than willing to welcome the 40-year-old to the MMA world.

“I’m excited, let’s see,” McGregor told Adam Glyn during a recent trip to New York.

“I just landed so I’ll check it out. But, I’m up for it.

“He should. I went into his game, he should come into mine.”

The chances of McGregor locking horns with Mayweather in his UFC comeback fight are slim to none as the Irishman has yet to defend his lightweight title.

McGregor, 29, hasn’t set foot inside the Octagon since claiming the 155lbs title in the main event of UFC 205, a card which saw him become the first fighter in the promotion’s history to hold two titles concurrently.
