Conor McGregor: Dana White makes significant announcement ahead of court case

The former UFC lightweight champion was supposed to rendezvous with White before the promotion’s maiden show in Liverpool late last month.

However, that meeting didn’t come to fruition, prompting

White was keen to link up with the UFC’s poster boy before his court case, which takes place in Brooklyn, New York later today.

The UFC chief’s plans have once again gone awry, but he’ll now meet ‘The Notorious’ later this month.

”He and I are meeting on the 18th of this month,” White told TMZ.

Last week, White insisted McGregor’s next opponent wouldn’t be a topic in their meeting.

At this moment in time, White doesn’t know if McGregor wants to talk business and admits he’s unsure of the 29-year-old’s next move.

“I don’t know whats gonna happen,” he continued.

After learning of Nurmagomedov’s whereabouts, the angry mob began attacking the bus, with McGregor throwing a dolly through one of its windows.

McGregor, 29, hasn’t set foot inside the Octagon since his historic 205 victory over Eddie Alvarez, a triumph which saw him become the promotion’s first simultaneous two-weight world champion.

White is keen for McGregor’s first fight back in the promotion to be against Nurmagomedov, a man many are keen to see ‘Mystic Mac’ lock horns with.

“We’ll see what happens with Conor McGregor, he’s got his court stuff in New York,” White told TSN’s Kara Wagland.

“And he and I have still got to get together. So we’ll see how this thing plays out.

“Khabib versus Conor is the fight to make. It’s the fight that makes sense. So we’ll see.”
