CM Punk confirms UFC return: Former WWE star reveals fight date

Punk, real-name Phillip Brooks, hasn’t set foot inside the Octagon since suffering a first-round submission loss to Mickey Gall at UFC 203.

In recent weeks, which takes place in his hometown of Chicago on June 9.

And last night, the 39-year-old seemingly confirmed that he will fight on the sixth pay-per-view show of the year.

Punk’s confirmation of his second UFC fight came in the form of a tweet to a Twitter troll, who attempted to mock him for his loss to Gall.

“When are we gonna see you cry again in the octagon?” the troll tweeted.

Punk responded by saying: “June nine, after I win and lock eyes with my beautiful wife, embrace my coaches and shout out my entire team.”

The  have yet to confirm if Punk will indeed be in action at the United Center.

Not long after making that declaration, White poured cold water on a deal being in place for Punk to fight at UFC 225.

“I don’t know,” he said during an appearance on UFC Tonight.

“I don’t know if that’s where he will fight.

“But he’s healthy now and he’s interested in fighting. We’ll see what happens.

“There is no deal for CM Punk to fight anywhere.

“So we’ll see how that plays out.”
